I die!

Due to my recent surge in ordering, Shutterfly decided to give me a free 11" by 14" print. (The surge is mostly motivated by needing to finally use my groupon/living social deals that I've bought over the past few months.) I was so excited and knew just which one to print...

Yep I am 100% that doggy mommy.

I cried when it came... true story. I just love this poochador like none other. Chris likes to call us "besties with no testes" because well... we are best friends and we are each without testes. That's my hubby for you; He speaks the truth and he never fails to make me laugh.

I ordered a frame for it from Amazon but sadly it came damaged and I had to wait for the replacement to come AND THEN the replacement came damaged... and then I cried again. ;-)

So I made a run to Ross and asked myself why I didn't do this in the first place anyway. I heart Ross. I found a few other things that I "needed."

HERE is the most handsome picture of the most wonderful dog framed and on display in all of its glory.

Yep, that is an autographed picture of Mickey & Minnie to Rico's left.

Hopefully I have learned that a trip to Ross is just about always a good idea!

Pictures + Babies = Awesome

So ya'll know how much we love the folks over at Tiny Green Elephants. Amy was my roommate in college and she is one of the most fun people you will ever spend time with. I lived with Amy while she and Andrew were falling in love with each other and with orphans... it was obvious to all of us that they were specially gifted to bless the socks off of people. So here is our chance to bless their socks off. PLEASE consider booking a photography session with Amy and even if you don't want fun pictures of you and your loved ones... well PLEASE consider donating to their adoption fund. They still have two international trips ahead of them before they get to bring their kiddos home.

Happy Sixth Monthiversary Cupid!

When I started getting back to the blog in the beginning of summer, I found this little leftover draft in my archives that had never been published. I figured we could celebrate the sixth monthiversary of Valentines' Day with some pictures of what my honey and I did to celebrate six months ago today.

I was in charge of breakfast and I made chocolate croissants and heart-shaped eggs and some fresh raspberries (his favorite).

The full breakfast display! (It's strange to see everything set up in the last place we lived... I miss having a separate dinning room, but LOVE where we are now.)

Chris was in charge of dinner and made me chili dogs and tater tots. His chili is delicious and he won the chili cook-off at work, so you know it's seriously good. (Love Note: He used his award-winning chili dogs and tots to woo me the first time he made me dinner on one of our first dates.)

Dessert! Cake Ice Cream Bites from Baskin Robbins. They were delicious, but way too rich for my blood. The mint one was edible, but the rest were designed for man with a true sweet tooth like my hubby. :-)

Happy-We're-Halfway-Back-To-The-Day-Of-Love-Day! Make sure to tell somebody you love them.

Pobrecito Poochador

The Rico Dog needed his choppers cleaned because we want a happy and healthy dog who lives for a VERY long time... I'm planning on him outlasting Chris and me. The vet recommended the full cleaning which required knocking Rico out. He was so precious and groggy when we picked him up. He kept whimpering and trying to keep both eyes open at the same time. He could manage one eye or the other but not quite both at the same time.
We got him home and had to keep him "quiet and contained"... I've never had a problem keeping Rico quiet, but contained is a whole other beast. We cuddled and tried to convince him that sleeping was a good idea. He agreed until he heard ANY sound and then he would whimper and cry and groggily try to find the source of the sound and then collapse again in my lap. His paranoia lasted the entire night. He would sleep for a few minutes and then wake and cry and then sleep again and then cry... all night. So I would like to publicly thank Rico for training us for our future newborn babies. I can honestly admit that I'm not ready for sleepless nights... It's rough. We are so thankful that the Rico Dog is doing well. He is, in fact, sleeping next to me right now. No nap for this doggy mommy, but I suppose that's part of the training program as well.
